The jury of the European Powerboat Award is put together from test riders and editors-in-chief of the leading European motorboat-magazines. Båtmagasinet (Norway), BoatMag (Italy), BOOTE (Germany), Motorboot (Netherlands), MoteurBoat (France), Nautica y Yates (Spain), Neptune (France), Marina CH (Switzerland) and last but not least Yachtrevue (Austria).
In total, our magazines represent over one million monthly readers in Europe and far beyond. Besides the print products, our magazines cover a much larger range, containing digital channels like websites, Facebook sites, Instagram pages and YouTube channels, providing information about boating to millions of users across the world.
This makes the “European Powerboat Award” the most important award of this industry worldwide.
The organization and implementation of the award ceremony is carried out by the BOOTE editorial apartment in Hamburg, who launched this award in 2005.
The 18 m class represents the interface between series boat building and custom-built yachts. They are already highly adapted to the needs of their owners and in some cases have features that are only known from large yachts. In addition to the sailing characteristics, the layout and design also play an important role in the assessment.
In this “entry-level class”, the jury places particular emphasis on safety, easy handling and the price-performance ratio of the boat. Most of the new developments in this class come from the established large shipyards in the USA and Europe. These boats should also be fun and offer the family enough space for day trips.

The announcement will take place during the Flagship-Night on the first evening of the Boot Düsseldorf (18.-26.01.2020).
